Rosedale is a popular community in North Central Austin. The neighborhood is bordered by 38th Street to the South, North Loop to the North, Lamar to the East, and Shoal Creek to the West. Rosedale’s small-town feel can be attributed to this neighborhood’s rich history dating back to the late 1800s. During that time, the area was filled with dairies and farms. In the early 1900s, Rosedale was home to four nurseries. Though they no longer exist, many of the large trees and flora in the area continue to beautify the neighborhood to this day.
Rosedale is a highly sought after area made up of 1,200 households. It attracts many types of residents, from new families to single professionals as well as long-time Rosedale residents.
Most homes in Rosedale were constructed between the early 1930s and mid-1950s. Lamar Blvd. is a major north/south road that can take you in to downtown or parts north. Burnet Rd., lined with popular local businesses, is a 10 to 15 minute drive north to the Domain, an upscale shopping and entertainment area. Guadalupe St., just a few blocks east of 38th and Lamar, will take you straight to the University of Texas in 5 minutes. A 5 minute drive on 45th takes you to I35 if heading east, and 5 minutes to MoPac heading west.
